West Ham want Southampton striker Rickie Lambert in January
West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is desperate to sign England international Rickie Lambert in January transfer window, according to The Independent.
The Hammers are looking forward to have The Saints striker Rickie Lambert in order to improve squad for the coming season.
West Ham are struggling to rebuild their strikeforce, as star player Andy Carroll who has been sidelined with the heel injury, he hasn’t played a single game with the Hammers since his arrival from Liverpool in August.
West Ham are currently sits in the fourth from the bottom in Premier League, and there is still relegation threat for Sam Allardyce’s side – To overcome this scenario, the manager has decided to dive into the January transfer window and according to the reports, Sam Allardyce is plotting a move for Southampton forward Rickie Lambert.
The 31-year-old forward has scored four goals in 16 appearances so far this season and his current contract is running until 2016.
West Ham United to visit Old Trafford to take on premier league champions Manchester United on Saturday, 21 December – 3 PM GMT.
