West Ham eye Man City defender Joleon Lescott

West Ham United are reportedly planning a summer move for Manchester City centre-back Joleon Lescott, according to reports in The Mirror.

It is understood the 31-year-old experienced defender is set to be free at the end of the season when his contract expires at the Etihad Stadium and could move to Upton Park on a free transfer.

The report suggests The Hammers were highly linked with a move for Lescott’s services in January, but West Ham manager Sam Allardyce failed to sign the former England international because the Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini opted to keep him at the Etihad Stadium as the club chased a historic Quadruple.

Since then, Sam Allardyce keen on Lescott and sees the former Everton man as an ideal addition to Upton Park, who has managed to play eight Premier League games this season so far.

However, Turkish side Besiktas are also said to be keen on Lescott and are ready to offer him £100,000-a-week salary.
