Liverpool linked with Bayern midfielder
Liverpool are reportedly considering an approach for Bayern Munich star Javi Martinez this summer, according to the Mirror.
The Spain international has established himself as one of the Bundesliga champions’ best player in the past two seasons, who joined the Bavarians from Athletic Bilbao in 2012 in a £36m move.
The report claims Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to strengthen his midfield ranks by making an approach for the 25-year-old star, who has versatile style of play – can operate as a centre-back and a defensive midfielder.
The Reds conceded 50 goals in this season, which resulted in losing the Premier League crown to Manchester City. Therefore, Rodgers wants to bolster his defence line by signing a right player to help the Merseyside club’s Champions League campaign next season.
However, Martinez has left three years on his current contract but an earlier report from the Mirror claims that Martinez is unhappy at the Allianz Arena and is considering an exit this summer.
What do you think, should he decide to leave the German champions for Liverpool?
