Olivier Giroud to be offered new two-year contract by Arsenal
Arsenal star Olivier Giroud is reportedly close to signing a new two-year contract extension with the Gunners.
The 27-year-old, who joined the North Londoners from Montpellier in 2012 – still has two years remaining on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, which expires in 2016.
However, the French newspaper L’Equipe claim that the veteran striker is on the brink of committing his future to The north London club by a further two years, which will keep him at the club until 2018.
The France international has established himself as a key player of Wenger’s squad. He has made 98 appearance for the Gunners over the past two years, scoring 39 goals in all competitions.
Giroud, who recently returned to training sessions following his post-World Cup holiday and Arsenal will convince the player to put pen to paper for further two more years, so that he can concentrate on the coming season.
