CONFIRMED: Tottenham release Emmanuel Adebayor
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have released Emmanuel Adebayor after the Togolese striker was excluded from Premier League and Europa League squads.
We can confirm that we’ve reached a mutual agreement with @E_Adebayor which will see him released from his contract with the Club.

The 31-year-old, who has been at Spurs since 2011 – was told that he had no future with the north London club and both sides have mutually agreed to end his contract.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City striker, who refused to join Aston Villa on a loan move this summer but had insisted that he turned down to facilitate a permanent transfer away.
Adebayor has scored 42 goals in 97 appearances across all competition since his arrival from Manchester City in 2012.
