Twitter reacts after Arsenal’s 1-0 loss to Chelsea
Arsenal hosted one of their Premier League rivals Chelsea at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon, as the Gunners looked to claim all three points from the game and remain their lead at top of the table.
The north Londoners were desperate to secure all three points against the west Londoners, who were slowly recovering after a disastrous start to the season under former boss Jose Mourinho.
With two teams were confident to win that match, things went wrong for the hosts and their manager Arsene Wenger.
The German centre-back Per Mertesacker was sent off for a late challenge on Chelsea’s Diego Costa, as the Spanish forward ran away beyond the back-line and was stopped.
The game ended in a dramatic 1-0 win to the Blues, which saw the hosts drop to third position in the league table, while the visitors climbed up to 13th.
Here’s how fans from both clubs have expressed their thoughts on Twitter after Chelsea won against their London rivals:
That was my favourite game this season by a country mile. The away fans outside afterwards was something else. #proudtobeblue #Chelsea

Everything’s changing. The world’s in a flux. Global warming. A black POTUS. So why is #Chelsea still getting the better of #Arsenal? Smdh.

Take out the 6 points #Arsenal have gifted #Chelsea and they’d be level with #Newcastle! #jinxed #bpl

Disappointed to be substituted. Circumstances forced that I don’t blame the boss. Hungry to play and win next game. #Coyg #toghetherstronger
