Report: Man United to renew interest in Inter Milan full-back?

Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in Inter Milan defender Yuto Nagatomo this summer.

The Red Devils were believed to be keen on a loan switch for the Japanese full-back in the January transfer window to provide greater strength in their injury-plagued defence area.

However, the 29-year-old reportedly turned down an approach to join the 20-time English champions on the deadline day, and is likely to do the same again should Louis van Gaal’s side return with a second bid.

“We haven’t set any meetings up yet and at the moment there are no major developments,” Nagatomo’s agent Federico Pastorello told FCInter1908.it.

“We have offers from English clubs, but Nagatomo wants to stay in Italy and specifically with Inter.”

Nagatomo has made 167 appearances for the Serie A outfit since joining the Internazionale back in 2011.
