Kane wants title ahead of Euro 2016

Harry Kane has issued a rallying cry to his team-mates after Tottenham Hotspur’s superb 4-0 win over Stoke.

The England striker is in hot form, with 24 goals in the Premier League this season and his form is a huge boost for England ahead of Euro 2016, but first the 22-year-old wants to win the league.

“We are not going anywhere,” said Kane after the Stoke victory. “If we keep playing like that, there are not many teams who will beat us.”

“We think we can do it, otherwise there’s not much point being involved. Leicester are still in the driving seat being five points ahead but there are four games left and we’ve reduced the gap. That’s all we could have done.”

It’s arguable that he is, with his dynamic style of play offering more than Rooney but the Manchester United man has an unrivalled amount of top-level experience, and tournament experience, compared to the others.

Vardy is similar to Kane, in the fact that both have performed incredibly well this season and offer a potent threat in front of goal, something Rooney currently does not.

However, once again Vardy’s lack of experience at the highest level could play against him as Roy Hodgson seeks to get England’s campaign off to a better start in France than the disastrous World Cup campaign of Brazil two years ago.

As the league title race hots up entering the crunch run-in, it could even be a good time to have a bet on Tottenham for the 2016 Premier League.

Spurs have slowly but surely worked their way into contention and after the terrific win at Stoke confidence will be high. Could Leicester implode and gift the chasing Spurs the title?

It’s possible, but from England’s point of view ahead of Euro 2016 the current battle between the teams is great news as both Kane and Vardy look to cement their chances of playing in a team that has high hopes for the tournament in France this summer.
