Report: Chelsea close in on Diego Lopez?

Chelsea have reportedly identified Diego Lopez as the ideal replacement for Asmir Begovic, who is set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez joined Rossoneri from Real Madrid in 2014 but has dropped down the pecking orders behind Gianluigi Donnarumma, who registered 10 clean sheets between the sticks last season.

It is understood that, The Italian giants have no short of options in the goalkeeping department and they are set to off-load their 34-year-old this summer.

According to reports from Gazzetta World, the Blues have shown a strong interest in the Spaniard and had started negotiation with the player’s agent last week to finalise a deal before the summer transfer window closes.

Lopez would be a surplus to requirements at San Siro and hence a move to Stamford Bridge makes sense.
