Report – Chelsea want to sign Anel Ahmedhodzic from Malmo
Chelsea have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Anel Ahmedhodzic from Malmo when the winter transfer window opens at the turn of the year.
The Blues were the busiest club in Europe earlier this summer, having spent more than £220m to lure seven players to the Stamford Bridge.
The West Londoners were able to strengthen their central defence with Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr, but were loaned out to FC Porto.
At the beginning of the season, Frank Lampard’s side were vulnerable at the back, but the record has recently changed with four straight clean sheets.
Still, Lampard is eyeing further reinforcement and Expressen suggests that Ahmedhodzic is on the radar of the Premier League giants.
The Bosnia & Herzegovina international is said to be valued at around £7.2m.
Chelsea are likely to make a mid-season move for the 21-year-old defender, who racked up 39 appearances for Malmo.
The centre-back is under contract in Malmo until 2023.
