Arsenal plot summer move for Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma?
Arsenal are reportedly weighing the possibility of trying to sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Kaoru Mitoma.
Although the 25-year-old’s transfer to the Seagulls was not highly publicised in August 2021, he was immediately loaned to the Belgian outfit Union SG.
The Japanese international has been impressive in the English football with 7 goals and 2 assists in 20 appearances across all competitions, and also made 4 appearances for Japan in the 2022 World Cup.
Due to his recent match-winning goals against Liverpool and Bournemouth, Mitoma’s popularity is on the rise.
He currently has a contract with Brighton & Hove Albion until 2025.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggests that Mitoma’s value may now be as high as £35m.
The Gunners recently completed a deal with Brighton to sign Leandro Trossard for around £27m.
According to a recent report from 90min, the North Londoners are also interested in Mitoma, but Brighton are unlikely to entertain any offers for him at this time.
Brighton are currently competing for a Champions League qualification, with Roberto de Zerbi’s side just six points behind fourth-placed Newcastle United in the Premier League standings and having one game in hand.
