Barcelona eyeing move for Matheus Nunes?

Barcelona have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes this summer, however, the Catalan giants have concerns that their existing financial condition might hinder the possibility of reaching a deal.

The 24-year-old, whose skills have caught the eye of fans, coaches, and scouts alike, made a big move last August from Sporting Lisbon to the Black Country club. Since joining, he has been a key player for the Wolves team, who are fighting hard to avoid relegation under the guidance of their coach Julen Lopetegui.

As it stands, Nunes and his team currently sit at 13th place in the Premier League, with a seven-point lead over the relegation zone. Recent victories against Chelsea and Brentford have helped boost their standing over the past two weeks.

Reports from the Daily Mail indicate that the Blaugrana are eyeing Nunes and considering using their connections with agent Jorge Mendes to try and lure him to Camp Nou. However, the La Liga leaders understands that their current financial challenges could make negotiations difficult.

It’s worth noting that the Portugal international is also on the radar of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Newcastle United. These teams are expected to have more financial resources than Barcelona in the upcoming window.

As Barca continues their quest for the La Liga title, the club will face Atletico Madrid at home on Sunday afternoon.
