Argentine Goalie Willy Caballero set to Join Manchester City
Malaga goalkeeper Willy Caballero has reportedly agreed to join the Premier League club Manchester City this summer, according to reports from Cadena COPE.
The highly-rated Argentine, who is widely regarded as one of the most consistent shot stopper in La Liga has been strongly linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium over the last few weeks, amid reports from Spanish radio station Cadena Cope have revealed an agreement between the clubs has been reached.
The Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini has been impressed with Caballero’s performance since last season and there has been speculation that the Chilean is reportedly keen on the 32-year-old glovesman’s signature following the departure of Costel Pantilimon, who has joined Sunderland.
Caballero is currently the highest paid footballer at Malaga, whose contract is valid until 2017 with a buy-out clause in the region of £16.5m.
It is understood that City are in need of a goalkeeper, but it’s unclear whether Caballero will join the Premier League champions as a replacement for Joe Hart.
