Arsenal target Magpies midfielder Moussa Sissoko

The Gunners are reportedly preparing to launch a £15m bid for the Frenchman Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United in January, according to the Times.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is desperate to reinforce their injury-hit midfield department by making a bid for the 25-year-old midfielder in the January transfer window, with Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere sidelined for around two and three months respectively.

The report claims that Wenger is an admirer of Sissoko’s strength, pace, energy and passing ability and is keen on bringing the talent to the Emirates, who is capable to fill the void space for both Wilshere and Arteta.

Sissoko, who arrived at St James’s Park in 2013 from French outfit Toulouse – has been a key figure for Alan Pardew’s side, scoring 2 goals in 15 appearances in all competitions this season.
