Liverpool keen on Roma playmaker Miralem Pjanic

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is plotting a move to sign Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic as a replacement for the legendary Steven Gerrard, who is joining LA Galaxy in the summer.

However, the Giallorossi want at at-least £37.1m for one of their best players, and Rodgers could offer the 24-year-old, £160,000 a week in wages to bring him to Anfield this summer.

The report claims that the Northern Irishman travelled to Italy in Rome to find out the huge sums involved last week.

If the Merseyside club are put off a move for the Bosnian by his price tag, then they have also been looking at two of his teammates in order to strengthen his squad.

Since joining Roma from Lyon in 2011, Pjanic has quickly established himself as one of the top central midfielders in Italian football, who has scored 3 goals in 17 Serie A appearances for the club this season.
