Liverpool retain interest in signing Sofyan Amrabat
Liverpool have not given up hope of signing Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
The Morocco international played every minute of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and his impressive performances have not gone unnoticed by clubs across the continent.
Liverpool are believed to be interested in Amrabat’s services, while Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also in the race for his signature.
A recent report suggests that Jurgen Klopp’s side have made Amrabat their top January target, with the manager keen on adding more depth to the midfield.
The Reds have already completed the signing of Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven, with the Dutchman officially joining the Merseyside giants on January 1.
Even with Gakpo now on the roster, Gazetta dello Sport, via the Daily Mirror, claims that Liverpool still hold an interest in signing Amrabat in the winter transfer window.
The report goes on to claim that Liverpool remain ‘on his trail’ and are aware of the midfielder’s desire to play Champions League football.
Amrabat, 26, is currently under contract with the Serie A outfit until the summer of 2024.
