Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to leave at end of season?
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is set to announce his departure from his boyhood club at the end of the season, reports ESPN FC.
Gerrard, 34, whose current contract is valid until the end of the 2014-15 season, with reports suggesting that the midfielder is unlikely to accept the extension offer from the Merseyside club.
The former England skipper is widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of the club, who has been heavily linked with a move to the current MLS champions – La Galaxy for rest of his career.
Gerrard has notched 180 goals in 695 appearances for the Reds, and helped the club to win two FA Cups, three League Cups, Champions League and the UEFA Cup during his glittering 17-year career at Anfield.
