Manchester City keen on Arsenal star
Manchester City are reportedly monitoring Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez in January transfer window, according to the Daily Express.
The 27-year-old, whose contract with the Gunners is valid until 2018, is currently indulged in contract negotiations with the North Londoners.
Arsenal have repeatedly offered him a two-year extension, but the Chilean has insisted for a release clause in his new contract. It has been reported that the player is also demanding for £200,000-a-week wages, which will make him the Gunner’s highest earner along with Mesut Ozil.
The report from the Daily Express claims that the Citizens are closely monitoring Sanchez situation and ready to make a move in for the forward if his negotiations with his current employer breakdown.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola rates Sanchez highly and previously signed him when he was in charge at Barcelona.
However, Sanchez has remained a crucial figure for the North London outfit, and it’s very unlikely that their manager Arsene Wenger would allow him to somewhere else.
Sanchez has made a fine start to the ongoing season and has already notched four goals for the Emirates outfit in all competitions.
He will be hoping to drive the Gunners to a League Cup win and will be looking forward to playing in the third round of the competition against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
