Manchester City want Lampard before the MLS 2015 season
Manchester City are reportedly attempting to lure Chelsea star Frank Lampard on a short-term deal before his switch to Major League Soccer in 2015, according to reports from Mirror.
The 35-year-old midfielder, who has already agreed to join MLS franchise New York FC on a lucrative deal for March 2015 season and has admitted that he could leave the Stamford Bridge this summer.
As a result, Lampard is set to be released by the Blues this month and it is being reported that the Premier League champions are trying to secure the services of the England international on a six-month contract before he moves to United States.
However, Lampard has previously stated that he would never play for any other Premier League club. But the Citizens are hopeful to bring Lampard to the Etihad Stadium.
Lampard has joined the west London club in 2001 from West Ham United for £11m transfer, helping his club by winning three league titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League.
Currently the England vice-captain is preparing for the FIFA World Cup 2014, staring on 12 June.
