Manchester United plot stunning raid for Bayern midfield

Manchester United are plotting a stunning £40million raid for Bayern Munich star midfield Toni Kroos, according to The Mirror.

The defending Premier League champions are closely monitoring the Bavarian midfielder for some time, with David Moyes is keen to strengthen his squad heading into the summer transfer window.

The Germany international is into final year of his contract at Allianz Arena after which he could be available on a free transfer.

It is understood, the Red Devils are confident that a massive summer bid may convince the Bundesliga champions to sell their man.

However, the Bavarians are keen to extend the contract with the 24-year-old, but the player is demanding £115,000-a-week hike on his current salary.

United have already two midfielders in charge, with Marouane Fellaini from Everton, and Juan Mata from Chelsea in January.
