The Slovakian international was entering the final year of his current contract, but is now agreed to put pen to paper on an extended deal, which will keep him at the club for yet another season.
The Times reports that the 30-year-old centre-back has agreed a new deal which will valid until 2018, and will sign once he returns from holiday.
Skrtel has made 212 Premier League starts for Liverpool since joining the Reds from Zenit St Petersburg in 2008.
The new deal brings a huge sign of relief among Liverpool fans, here are the best one’s.
Like him or not, Skrtel is one of our most loyal and committed players and he’s a great player to have at our club. Very happy he’s staying
