Report: Arsenal to recruit Barcelona starlet

Arsenal are reportedly in talks with the Spanish champions Barcelona over a potential deal for Tottenham target Sergi Samper, according to Metro.

The 20-year-old midfielder has a €12m release clause but the Gunners are ready to make a formal  approach with a €6m bid this January.

The north Londoners are currently without the services of both Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla and the Portuguese could be an ideal option to fill their boots at the Emirates.

Samper has yet to debut for the Nou Camp club in La Liga but has made a plenty of appearances for the club in the Copa Del Ray and Europe.
