Rumours: John Obi Mikel set for new Chelsea deal

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel whose current contract is due to expire in the summer of 2017, could reportedly be offered a new deal to remain with the reigning Premier League champions, according to The Mirror.

The 28-year-old midfielder has been featured regularly for the Blues since Guus Hiddink took charge of at the Stamford Bridge in December.

The reports have suggested that the west Londoners have now reportedly considering to offer a new fresh-term contract to the Nigerian intentional.

Mikel has made 354 appearances thus far since he joined Chelsea from Norwegian side Lyn Oslo in 2006.
