Rumours: Man City close in on Ilkay Gundogan?

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan’s move to the Etihad Stadium will reportedly be finalised within this week.

The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to the City, but since the midfielder sustained a knee injury – will make him sideline until at least September.

However, as per The Telegraph, the incoming manager Pep Guardiola has told the Citizens management to push ahead with the deal worth an initial £20.1 million plus bonuses.

Gundogan, who will be missing the Euro 2016 with a knee injury – has made 40 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit in all competitions last term.

The 25-year-old versatile midfielder’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season.
