Tottenham sign Toby Alderweireld from Atletico Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Belgium defender Toby Alderweireld from Atletico Madrid on a five year contract.

Alderweireld, who spent last season on loan at Southampton with an option to make deal permanent, but the 26-year-old has finally joined the north London club until 2020 from the Spanish giants for a fee of £11.4 million, as reported by The Guardian.

The centre-back becomes Spurs’ third summer recruit, following the arrival of FC Koln’s Kevin Wimmer and Burnley’s Kieran Trippier to White Hart Lane.

Alderweireld took to twitter to express his thoughts after completing a move to Spurs:
