Will the Bavarians win the Champions League semi-final?
Football fans across the world will witness the most exciting encounter of the season after Bayern Munich are once again playing against Real Madrid in the semi-final of Champions League 2014. With the semi-finals draw now decided, it will be an exciting to see, how have Bayern Munich fared in the bookmaker market in their quest for a next Champions League crown.
Real Madrid wins over Bundesliga clubs – Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund helps them to reach the semi-finals, whilst the reigning champions Bayern Munich have made it into the semis by defeating Premier league clubs – Arsenal and Manchester United.
Both the teams have already met 20-times against each other in the Champions League, in which Bayern have won 11 times, lose 7 matches and draw twice.
Although, the Bavarians have a great record against the La Liga giant, they have never lost against the Madrid’ at home in Munich and it is understood that the German Champions, a five-time winner are now confident to keep their momentum of form against the Los Blancos in the semis.
April 23rd: Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich at Santiago Bernabeu
April 29th: Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid at Allianz Arena
19:45 (UK Time)
Bayern manager Pep Guardiola has a good record against the Spaniards, faced Real Madrid for 15 times as a Barcelona coach, won 9 matches and losing twice.
However, Guardiola is full of admiration for Real coach Carlo Ancelotti. He told Marca at the beginning of the season:
‘He’s hugely experienced, has won trophies at several clubs and I’m sure sooner or later he’ll get Real playing good football. The team has changed following the change of coach and it’s normal for there to be teething problems. I’m sure it will all come together for Carlo soon.’
Our Prediction:
Real Madrid 2-4 Bayern Munich (agg.)
The first legs to be played on April 22/23, with the second legs on April 29/30 and the Champions League Final will be played on May 24 at the Stadium of Light in Lisbon.
