Wolfsburg plotting Martin Skrtel swoop?
The German side Wolfsburg are reportedly lining up a swoop for Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel, according to The Mirror.
The Slovakian international is in his eighth successful season at Anfield, having joined the Reds from Zenit St Petersburg in 2008.
The 30-year-old’s contract is valid until next summer, but the report has suggested that the discussions over a new deal at Liverpool are currently on hold.
Meanwhile, the Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, who have already secured Champions League for next season are leading the race for Skrtel’s signature and it is believed that the Merseysiders would prefer to sell him rather than lose him next year.
Skrtel, who is also wanted by Serie A outfit Napoli – has made 27 appearances for Liverpool this season.
