In today’s press conference, the Spaniard said: “The decision is definitive yet difficult. I’m happy to have stayed at Barca this year. It was tough to make a decision. I want to thank the fans. They’ve been great to me.”
The veteran midfielder has won eight league titles and three Champions League silverware with Barca. He could add two more titles to his achievements as the Copa del Rey final and Champions League 2015 final are due to be played ahead of his departure.
Xavi has made over 750 appearances for the Spanish giants – more than any other player in the club’s history.
